About

London based artist, Lily Morgan, has been working with ceramics since 2014, originally becoming fascinated with the medium through the philosophy of wabi-sabi. The philosophy explores the idea that everything is more beautiful for its imperfections, emboldening her to continue to battle with the antiquated, temperamental material despite no proper training.

Morgan has since branched out into metal, wood, paper sculpture and print, always heavily influenced by the physicality of each material. Works are created by ‘drawing’ with a material, cutting directly into slabs of clay, or sheets of metal and paper, to close the distance between drawing and sculpture. Lily finds there is a freedom in drawing that she is always trying to capture in a more permanent form
